Happy Birthday, Jon!

From yet another of your 100,000,000 fans...HAPPY 50th BIRTHDAY JON!

You will likely never see this message, but I know I reflect the sentiment of many when I say I truly hope your day is as special as you are.

That you are surrounded by family and friends, and all who love you.

That you can revel in the fact, even for one moment, that you are in the minds and hearts of millions today, who are sending you the same wishes and thoughts from all around the world.

That this milestone does not make you feel old, just older.

And most importantly, that you have many, many more.

Best of birthday wishes to my favorite rock star of all time. Enjoy it!!
xx

From the man (Jon) himself...

JBJ did a little blogging for us here - thanks for the shout out, Jon! And so happy to see that a new record is coming together...happy, yet laughing at you because I TOLD YOU you were a liar. :) (Psst...you are fully allowed to lie about things like this!)

As posted on Facebook:

Greetings to all. Happy 2012! I hope everyone had a fine holiday and that you're all ready for what we hope will be an exciting 2012. Since we spoke last I've been informed that over 15 million Bon Jovi followers are out there monitoring our activities. Thanks. Considering we're not actively touring and don't have a record out that is amazing. The Circle Tour was beyond our wildest dreams. 4 million of you saw the tour and made us the biggest tour on the planet in 2010 and #2 in 2011... it's only fair we let some of the other bands have some of your attention in 2012 but don't worry, we are writing up a storm and have a really good record coming together. Richie and the guys are all happy and healthy. At least that's what they tell me... Thanks for the posts regarding my blogged demise. As I write this I am very much alive but I died online December 19th, 2011 and it was a wild 60 minutes. Fortunately my family was all together when the calls came in and we quickly dispelled the rumors. Besides all the well wishes 'dying' is soooo overrated. We all have so much to live for so make the best of each day. In 2012, I look forward to the Soul Kitchen helping those who in these difficult financial times need help from their neighbors. Remember, a helping hand up is not a hand out. Empowering your neighbor is not entitling them. You'd be surprised how many people today are either in need or on the verge of economic assistance. WE have the power to make a difference. Find something or someone that moves you... you can make a difference and I promise it will make you and that neighbor in need feel something magical. Don't fall into the negative. Don't assume the press or those in the media know better or know more. Follow YOU. Partisanship, is just ignorance in disguise. Ok, enough of my thoughts. It's time to go to work. I'll fill you in on any one off shows like Bamboozle in Asbury Park as the dates come together. Until then root for your favorite team, who ever that may be and look out for your favorite band, we know who that should be. See you round... JBJ

Tropical holiday

The Bongiovi family spent Christmas in St. Bart's as usual aboard a yacht, tanning on the beach, or snorkeling in the blue waters. Not my idea of Christmas, but definitely a damn fine holiday...especially considering the view of a certain rockstar. ;)

Enjoy.

Richie's solo album coming Spring 2012?!

WEEEEEEEE! I hope it's true! Thanks, Hath, for posting the news!

From MixOnline

Bon Jovi lead guitarist and producer, singer/songwriter Richie Sambora is recording his third solo album at Ocean Way Recording in Hollywood. Luke Ebbin, producer of the Bon Jovi albums “Crush” and “Bounce,” is helming the new project.
“Richie and I have worked on and off together for years,” explained Ebbin. “Richie came off the Bon Jovi tour energized and we got together to write a couple of songs. The results were very good, so we kept writing more and decided to go in and record them. The recordings came out great, so Richie decided why not make this a solo record? There are eight songs in the can now, including a co-write with Bernie Taupin. We’ve started round two of sessions and hope to have a full album done by early spring.”

Sambora’s first solo outing was “Stranger in This Town” (1991), a critically acclaimed blues-influenced album that featured Eric Clapton playing lead guitar on the song “Mr Bluesman,” backed by Sambora on acoustic guitars. “Undiscovered Soul” was Sambora’s second solo album, released in 1998 and produced by Don Was.

Rumors of Jon's death have been greatly exaggerated.

What a weird evening. I come home to Facebook statuses saying "I HOPE Jon Bon Jovi isn't dead!" and 'Can it be true?!" and "Come on, people, stop spreading lies - Jon's livin' on a prayer!"

Confused as heck, I did the only rational thing to do in this day and age.

I Googled it.

Turns out some moron thought it would be funny to spread the rumor that JBJ was found in a coma in a Jersey hotel, taken to the hospital, and later died of cardiac arrest.

Shortly afterward, a photo appeared of the new angelic Jon in front of a Christmas tree with a handwritten sign:

He still looks damn good for a guy who died of cardiac arrest.
